Series: 35 Years of Keeping Families Close

My husband and I had our twin boys on November 11, 2018. The boys were 33 weeks and 2 days old when they came into this world so they needed some NICU time to grow stronger and bigger. Having two newborns in the hospital and leaving them each night is an immensely painful and stressful thing to have to endure. Ronald McDonald House meant so much to us. It meant a warm bed right by the hospital so we could spend the maximum amount of time in the NICU with our sons. It meant not having the added financial stress of affording a long commute or an expensive hotel. It meant a cozy home environment with other parents experiencing similar situations. It meant home cooked meals, and not having to worry about finding and paying for food every day. Those eighteen days were the toughest of our lives but RMH really eased the burden and saw to everything right down to providing me with a pump and mini-fridge for the room to make feeding my boys in the NICU easier. Looking back on those days we can’t imagine getting through it without Ronald McDonald House.
