Mission Statement of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile:
The mission of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program is to provide quality dental services to Vermont children in selected underserved communities, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a 40-foot, 26,000 pound traveling dental clinic donated by Ronald McDonald House Charities Global. Staffed by professionals, this state-of-the-art vehicle provides comprehensive pediatric dental care to children (ages 0-20 years) primarily in Central Vermont. It includes two patient dental chairs, a reception and medical records area.
In 2019…
- 1,111 visits to the Care Mobile
- 738 children were treated on the Care Mobile
- 22 schools participated in school visits.
Services provided by the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile include:
- Preventative and corrective dental health services including exams, x-rays, extractions and sealants.
- Nutritional and dental education.
- Helping eligible families enroll in government insurance programs (Medicaid).
- Instilling good oral hygiene habits.

- One in ten children are in need of dental care.
- Most children in Vermont are drinking one or more sugar-sweetened beverage per day.

Touching Story of a Care Mobile patient:
A young adult at one of the schools went without dental care for many years. When he was seen on the Care Mobile, he had 22 cavities of which seven involved his front teeth. This person needed 14 appointments to complete treatment. He did not cancel one appointment and was a pleasure to serve. At the end of his treatment, he had the biggest smile… he truly appreciated the work the Care Mobile staff did for him. His mom called the staff a few days later and said that she had never seen her son smile so much in her life!!!
